Born in Santiago de Cuba and now based in France, Jonar is a self-taught dancer whose journey is built on dedication, discipline, and pure passion for Cuban culture. Through talent and relentless work, he became a professional artist deeply rooted in both traditional and popular Cuban dance.
A former performer in one of the largest cabarets in Santiago de Cuba, Jonar later became part of the renowned Casino Punto Com (Casino.com), one of the most respected and celebrated Rueda de Casino teams in the world.
His achievements speak for themselves: World Champion in Rueda de Casino (San Marino, Italy), two-time Cuban Champion in Rueda de Casino, two-time Cuban Champion in Couple Dancing, and Champion in the individual category of Monarcas del Casino. A powerful soloist, strong partner, and true competitor, Jonar has built a remarkable presence both on stage and on the social floor.
With over 13 years of international teaching experience, Jonar is recognised for his powerful energy, technical precision, musicality, and his ability to transmit the authentic spirit of Cuban dance. Every class and every social with him is a mix of connection, rhythm, culture, joy, and unforgettable Cuban sabor.
But Jonar’s artistry goes beyond dance, he is also a gifted singer and musician, having performed with live bands and bringing a deep musical understanding into everything he creates. Dance, rhythm, voice, stage presence, he carries the full essence of Cuban artistry.
